Why do you think GWS want him down back? I will tell you, because he dies not give them enough up forward. I think he stays at Giants and plays CHB.
I think you may not have seen enough GWS games Wolfy, Himmelberg plays forward not back most of the time - and he does it because they have had the luxury of not needing him down back. This year HH has spent most of his time partnering Hogan up forward. If we do need a replacement for Pady (and god forbid one for Tom) I can't think of a better pick than HH - and not just because he'd only cost us salary cap space. The other big ticket suggestions would cost us salary cap space AND picks (probably picks in this year's 'superdraft')

I know the idea that Cox's All-Australian-Ruckman-ness can be tranferred by proximity, but doing and teaching are very different things.
The best ruck coach of all time was Steve Taubert, who was a trier at best (outside of his final year)
You might as well suuggest that Michael Voss is coaching the Carlton midfield to brilliance, simply because he was a brilliant midfielder.

I must have missed these AFL games when Hall was kicking 20 goals a game. Did you mean to say "season" here?

Unlikely. They are not eligible for free agency. Any scenario where they went into the PSD and ended up at Adelaide is unlikely as several clubs would have picks before Adelaide's first pick.

Only if the players were delisted would Adelaide have a chance to get them for free.

Good news Thunder. I thought our situation would be much worse than that if Stephens chose not to re-sign. Thanks for clarifying.

            Hey thunder
From memory Baz kicked 120isj goals over 6 seasons at Saint Kilda prior to joint us

Playing down back and up front as required

Providing an example not unlike HH or some other key talls that can find their groove at either end of the ground depending what is required by the new team wanting to help them get to the next level

Gould would slip to Adelaide’s second round pick - if they could even be bothered

Our list seems to have taken the biggest fall from grace ever seen.

Last year. Young team full of promise. Grand final. Many years of flag chances ahead.

Now. No key position players. Young'n maybe not as good as we thought. Game plan worked out. Many years of rebuilding ahead.

Barry, it is almost fitting that yours is post number 666 in this thread. I am scathing of the club’s recruitment strategy with first round draft picks at times, but I sometimes wonder if GWS is your first team and Swans a reluctant second?

I don't think the kids aren't as good as we thought. It might be that we've been worked out, or the it might be the injuries to all the talls, or are they being over-coached? No idea, but right now they seem severerly lacking the spontaneous Joie de vivre that used to be such a feature.

Don't play the man mal. That's a genuine sentiment that's shared by many. Dark times. That game last night doesn't fill me with confidence.

I do agree there is genuine disappointment and lack of faith in the coaching etc held by a number of supporters. It was just funny to me that post 666 was by you

Last night was very fumbly. We would have won it though I think, if we didn’t have such farcical umpiring and if had a bit more polish shooting at goal - we did have one more scoring shot and we had a run of six behinds in a row. It wouldn’t have been a convincing win though, and it would have raised questions still (just like when we only narrowly beat North Melbourne early last year when others were gaining massive percentage).

Those with long memories know Barry's first true love is a sports stadium, not a footy team [emoji23][emoji23]

I worry about the list more than the coaches. No one was complaining about Horse last year.

. I was going by the number on the thread list page. Is that a count of replies to the original post?

If so, then reply 666. Same kind of point
