True but could be very useful in new environment. Supposedly great mates as well.Comment

Ps I don’t see a role for HHK in Snr footy though. But somewhat like for like stat comparison?"be tough, only when it gets tough"

Agree with you Blood Fever, and the important thing is it does not break the bank in terms of salary cap. Even better we retain a strong draft hand to continue the development process.
Collingwood and Brisbane have both showed the benefit of depth, and this is something we were exposed by this seasonComment

Agree Nobles and Adams and McStay missing out on a GF and or final series is so different to Roberts, Sheldrick and or Ladhams
It is literally LA to NY city apart"be tough, only when it gets tough"

Typical optimism....
Who should we have got.....Dow?....and who else out of available potential trades?
We have obtained a gun ruckman, a Magpie clearance beast who should have been a premiership player this year and two other premiership players FFS. I think we've done well and these players will make a difference.Last edited by stevoswan; 8 October 2023, 05:19 PM.Comment

Doesn’t Issac Heeney do 15.3 disposals and 4.3 tackles at Senior AFL level in a similar spot on the field? With even more chance to get the footy with a % in the midfield to contribute to goal assists and or hands on the ball?

Inside Trading: Roos' offer for Blue, Swans load up, stars emerge at Combine (afl.com.au)
Discusses Adams, Grundy, Hamling and Jordon. Mentions pick 23 as a "central plank" to land trade deals, says trading pick 11 is "unlikely"."Unbelievable!" -- Nick Davis leaves his mark on the 2005 semi finalComment

I think it’s good that the Swans have now officially got their hands on Hamling, and plan not to play him - even in the NEAFL - till concedes just how much cheating went on in the 2016 GF. His weeping press conference, pleading shame, on Driver Avenue at 11am Tuesday should be a doozy.'Delicious' is a fun word to sayComment

As for Adams: Some of the confidently unequivocal assertions being made may not be enitirly measured.
Four pages ago Adams was being lauded for his skilled delivery - yet the Collingwood fans regarded him as a ball butcher (those opinions predate his decision to fly north). And now I read from you he's a clearance beast, but I thought the Maggots recruited Mitchell because they had a clearance problem? So I have no idea about Adams, He may prove to be recruiting masterstroke, or provide depth, or he may suffer a string of injuries. So I took a look at some stats: Taylor Adams and James Rowbottom AFL Stats Comparison
FWIW - I wonder whether Adams' big contribution might be his wealth of experience in roving to a shiny new AA ruckman Grundy - maybe shortcut the time it takes to learn to read this taps etc. etc.Last edited by Ruck'n'Roll; 8 October 2023, 09:22 PM.Comment

I can't reproach Longmire for going all out for a premiership next year. I'm sure he wants another one in the bag before his contract runs out. There is also the dismal thought that the Giants may surpass us as the number 1 AFL team in Sydney unless we do something fast. I'm happy to change my mindset and support Longmire and the rest of the Swans brain trust in their endeavor to do whatever necessary to push the Swans to the top of the table asap.
I think we've done very well to get Grundy, Adams, Jordon and Hamling. All are best 22 capable players. It may mean that some of my favourite youngsters will lose their spots on our team list, but so be it. Maybe they can find greener and more patient pastures in another valley.
I hope our new group of players stays healthy and takes us to the promised land. The club has my full support in what they've done. They saw an opening to change course, and went for it. I didn't see it coming. If anyone else did on here, they were keeping it secret. Now that it's just about done, I can only stand and applaud. Well done guys.Comment
