Would be keen on Jiath. Konstanty is a hard one as I wonder if having a make shift forward line has had an effect on him ? He shows climpses and his tackle pressure is very good.Comment

Great news on McDonald!
Now just the challenge of keeping Chad happy next year!

Awesome! He was never going anywhere, even if it took longer than we'd like. Hopefully he can play unburdened now. But we got the big five signatures we wanted.
I think it's really only Harry unsigned from current best 23 now.
As for next year, the Chad and JMac will be the two biggest, as well as a decision on Lloyd. (I'm assuming Rampe retires at the end of next year.)'Delicious' is a fun word to sayComment

My favourite quote from Logan on the swans website today was:
"There's no substitute for happiness. I'm so happy here with the people around me at this footy club, and I don't think any amount of money could make me leave that so I'm so grateful for the opportunity to stay here."

I would let go Reid, Francis and Ladhams as superfluous players. Vickery is on the edge and mush show more to hold on for another year.
So I am foreshadowing the retirements of Rampe and Fox as the next year or 2.
I think our greatest need is to get more height into the team, especially the backline, but not necessarily key defenders. I would look for tall utilities, with height ranging from JaMac to Blackey size, with good pace and skills. What is see too often is Lloyd, who is not a particularly good efemder at the best of times, getting matched up against much taller opponents. So it would be nice to get another taller body able to compete in the air when the current generation move on.
Players like Sicily, Wilkie, Luke Ryan and Tom Stewart represent the kind of player who could help out team in the coming years. If I recall, none were picked up in the 1st round.
We made a big mistake 2 years ago trading out our pick for Josh Waddle to the Hawks, a player who perfectly fits this profile, and we didn't really get the players we needed in return, although the it looked to be a good value trade at the time.
I wouldn't be drafting any mids, smalll forwards or small defenders this year. and would also consider trading one of our top picks into 2025.Comment

Just saw the news on McDonald.....well done Logan, well done Swans!
I like his reasoning and it's a great reflection on the club, "There's no substitute for happiness". Think about that when considering your future Chad W.

Here’s an extract from an interview with Rowie where he said some of the out of contract guys got together for a lunch at start of the year and spoke about the value of sticking together. God bless em.

After last season we had good depth in all areas except key defender. But with the excellent form of both Snell and Will Edwards, the addition of Hamling and return to health of McCartin and Melican, we've made a big turnaround in this area, so much so, that I no longer consider this to be a weakness. We also have a key defender prospect in this year's draft. We will have to see about Arnold when he returns.Comment

I've heard it called the Costa Living Allowance, prospective recruits seem to get into can't fail property opportunities when being wooed by Geelong. Bailey Smith currently looking at property on the Surf Coast, bound to find a bargain if he signs with GeelongComment
