Or pronounce. Are they real names or are you playing scrabble and that's just what came out of the bag?

God knows what Brian Taylor would do to some of those. Strumpf might be particularly challenging.

One of our real weaknesses this year was our inability to take a contested mark. Even though neither of these players are tall they're both strong markers - perhaps that's a bit of the reasoning behind both of these picks.

If we are expecting a first year player to take big grabs in big games, that ain’t happening. But this draft went as well as everyone here expected. The supporters and the recruiting team are on a tangent on what we need. But again any talk will be a speculative take. I suspect we will get a midfielder either a pure inside or inside with some speed on our next pick, just to complete what’s been happening with our draft over the years.
but if the recruitment team knew about the draft could we have done better before the draft in terms of getting the right kind of players who may be more ready than the draft kids

I never Wicks was better then either I just said we will play him in front of them.

              Very weird Horse not there

Cant see how Logan or Mclean dont play defence next year ? More likely Logan, which would throw that pick in the air and the whole process of building for life after Buddy out the window.
I doubt either will play done back, Logan maybe if up forward doesn’t work out BUT McLean is not suited.

I guess these 2 draftees address needs in the future and that’s what the drafts for I guess bring in night 2

Regarding KPD’s- let’s wait and see who we pick tonight, but agree we need a couple of talls.
I thought Dattoli's highlights were pretty impressive. Looks more of a midfielder to me. Nothing like the build of Konstanty and can take a mark. Looks like he has a lot of footy nous. Every year people either think players are going to be stars in their first year or they are duds. I bet Richmond don't think all their first round picks will be stars or will get a game in their first year.

I expect Logan will be CHF and have a breakout year. By the way, I haven't heard anyone from the club say they thought the 3 tall forwards was a failure. The team had a howler in the GF. Up until then I don't think too may people thought it was a failure. The failure was the midfield and our poor centre clearance work. The forwards got little supply from the mids and the defence was up against a Tsunami coming out of the guts.
Do we read anything into JL not being there last night? Cox looked in charge and maybe this is the start of the handing over the reins to him.

I don't know how many realise that Patrick Snell had his contract extended to 2027. That should give us some indication of what we think of his ability to play AFL footy. And further, why we may not be all that desperate for a KPD.

There are still loads of KPPs left in the draft, and suspect we will take one with our next pick, but wouldn't be totally surprised if we we choose someone till on the board that we feel is just too good to pass on.

We have a lot of depth in all positions and a well balanced list.

As an aside, I found the top 10 picks this year to be as good as I've ever seen. They all look like future Brownlow winners.

I see so many comments about McLean not suitable as a key defender, while I have posted many times that I think he would be an excellent key defender.

In any case, I think we have enough coverage in defense where it's unlikely to see that happen.

WE always have the possibility to go with just 2 tall forwards if the current trio doesn't quite develop the way we like.

What I like about our list is that we have plenty of options, so long as we can sign Chad to a long term contract. With the gun mids draftedd this year, we really need him to match some of the midfields we will be facing in the coming years.

Heeney, Chad and Wilbur are probably 3 of the best 7 marking smalls in the comp, not like we are lacking there

Hoping we have talls in mind tonight

Not saying these kids won't be something, they deserve every chance.

                            Just hoping they get opportunities.

I get we're usually a best available type club, the game is heading towards playing with a fleet of hard-running small and medium forwards, and we weren't alone in forming a view around some of the talls in the draft (though I want to see how far they fall tonight).

I do hope however we can find a good tall forward with our third pick. They take time. Logan is four years in, and still developing. We need to start banking one or two before Tassie come in and destroy the draft for a couple of years.

I know we potentially have a couple in the Academy next year, but we don't really depend on that yet, and neither are that tall (though that could change). And sure we have Hayden, Amartey and Bueller but Hayden has limits, Amartey has had one good season, and Bueller has done nothing yet. I don't imagine for a minute a kid in the draft this year will have any immediate impact; it is about the pipeline for the back end of the decade.

Got high hopes for Dattoli. Watching his highlights, I reckon he can play immediately and make a difference to our forward pressure.
Bowman is probably a longer term project but certainly looks like he has plenty of talent.
For night two, Cochrane and the best available at our pick. Part of me would like to see a key position player but we do seem fairly well stocked at both ends, although I think the quality of our depth is somewhat questionable.
