      Now this is just silly...

BTW - I note that Lucas was considered one of Essendon's best players.

You think a basic kick anywhere on the ground is equivalent to a kick that goes for a goal?

So that means on a day when TOny Lockett kicked 11 goals, some back pocket player with 14 kicks played a better game...

Yeah, those 4 effective possessions by LRT were much better than 4 goals by Lucas - I wonder if Essendon are willing to make a straight trade...

You seem to be obsessing amazingly over this. I simply think LRT was beaten and we should drop him back into the reserves to give him more football practice while we try some other players. You seem to think he was great and towelled up Lucas. This is fantasy land stuff. However, you think all kicks are equal then I'm not surprised!

No, I never said LRT "was great and towelled up" Lucas, which is not true although you have said the opposite which is also not true.

Once more to overcome your hearing difficulties, LRT played a servicable game against a top quality forward. He justified his place, and deserves to be in the seniors next week.

Lucas only got in the so-called best Dons players because he luckily kicked 4.0 instead of 0.4. If he was playing for Sydney at the moment, I bet he would have got 0.4 (knowing our luck), and we would be bagging him for getting done over by LRT, and wondering why we ever did the trade.

It is unfair to compare two players using a system where one can get six points for one action, while the other can only hope for 1 point for any of his actions. What sort of standard is that ?
Give Lucas 2 for a goal if anything.

One last thing, over 55% of people here, plus the people that count (roos and the coaches) thinks we should keep him, so its hardly me obsessing.

I get it now, LRT had a good game because his opponent kicked four straight goals. It is a subtle game, Australian rules football.

Lockett was lucky enough to become the greatest goalkicker of all time because he was lucky that he kicked over 1000 goals instead of over 1000 behinds.

I think Judd was lucky to win a Brownlow last year as he was lucky enough that to keep getting the ball and so lucky that whenever he disposed of it, it went to a teammate or for a goal.

And those lucky Brisbane players were lucky enough to kick a higher score than their opponents on enough occasions to be lucky enough to win a few flags...

                    How lucky are these people...

just as I thought. As if luck plays a part in footy these days. We should change the ball so it doesn't bounce so funny.

We need to trade for one of these lucky players. Its what's been missing from our team all these years.

Yeah, good luck. We never have any luck come trade time.
