I don't disagree with the decision to trade Schneider but that's a harsh call. On that basis, Jude and O'Loughlin should have been traded, given that both missed very east shots in '05 and '06.

I think Anthony is going to Perth to the Dockers as part of the deal to get Tarrant back.

Yup, in case Trade Week is very active with the Gold Coast shopping around draft picks for players.

But usually absolutely bugger all happens on the first 2-3 days, if anything it should of been shortened.

And rumours are flying around that the Suns have made Travis Cloke a good offer. If he goes then Collingwood probably won't trade Anthony.

As usual, nothing will happen until the last day and a half.

Sherman and Everitt isn't asking too much is it? If we get those two and not lose anything of value (other than Ves) it will be the 2nd offseason in a row where our trade periods have deserved an A+.

I believe he has potential to be a very good player. You don't find many players who can be thrown forward for a season and kick 50 goals. They used him as a defender this season which was odd considering the previous year he had up forward. Dawes has the bigger body and is rated by Malthouse, it was always going to be difficult for Anthony to break into the best 22 as Collingwood's side was pretty set half way through the year.

A new environment for a fresh start would be the best thing for Anthony and it looks as if Fremantle is gonna be that club.

I see the reason why Collingwood won the GF as because they have a huge number of midfielders that they can rotate. Thomas, Swan, Pendelbury, Wellingham, Sidebottom, Ball, Beams and even Didak all seem to move between the midfield and forward and back and they kick goals.

They had 17 centre clearances to 5 in the second GF testimony to a fierce desire to win the footy on the quick break.

Our new midfield is headed by Jack and Hannaberry. Bolton is in the twilight of his career, ROK may not be able to gut run and is getting on, Goodes is a break open midfielder, Kennedy is an accumulator but not quick and McVeigh is an outside midfielder. So to recruit someone like Houli who has pace and has a go, is not such a bad idea. In patches he has looked good but didn't appear to be in Knight's good books. To build a hard running midfield like Collingwood's we have to find at least 2 quick and well skilled midfielders. Sherman appears to be a target to perpetuate the game plan of having quick half back flankers.

It is now saying that Houli will stay with the bumbers.

Nico you forgot to mention a few like Bird, Meredith, Moore and even McGlynn. Why can't Rohan have a role similar to Swan?

I'll leave it to the experts.

You're right there Bas. McGlynn falls into that midfield group but I am off Moore. I heard he has an ankle injury that won't get any better and was managed through the end of the season. He was a waste of time in the Semi Final. Bird is on the slower side as is Meredith.

Today's rule changes resulting in only three interchange players and one subsitute has probably sounded the death knell for Vespa in any trade deal.

The rule will probably diminish his trade value considerably and not make the deal worth it, so we are better holding and seeing if he can attain the required fitness levels to play senior football and run out games. It's also going to hurt someone like Moore but could be a plus for someone like Barlow as we go back to blokes who have a big engine as the rotations off the bench comes down.

Also maybe brings Currie into play as a trade as the likelyhood that teams will only play with one specialist ruckman due to not being able to carry the extra as one of only three on the bench.

Big engines are fine but surely some skill and a feel for the game are more important. Steve Monaghetti can run all day too but like Barlow he is a crap footballer.
