Should we offer up two of Barlow, MOD and Currie and a pick to the lions for sherman because:
"Lions coach Michael Voss has said he is prepared to trade Brennan, but he isn't keen to swap Justin Sherman." FoxSports

EDIT: I hope the Sentanta rumors are wrong. I love Bevo, a true blood

As long as Setanta knows he will only be with us as depth then i'm ok to let Bevan go to Carlscum.
Setanta will be a decent enough target if Bradshaw breaks down again.

EDIT: Only depth for Johnston sorry. Johnston >>>> Setanta.

Vez was on Trade Week Radio

                - good to go back home and spend time with the family - a good opportunity for me
                - going alright in 2008, 2nd year good preseason going okay in trial games and did hand out for 10 weeks came back early and was underdone
                - didn't get the opportunity this year, one game against port, played well, and stiff to be dropped.
                - wasn't enjoying footy, needed a fresh start, to clear his head, Spoke to Bazza who convinced him to come.
                - will play forward at the Dogs, no guarantees. Maybe move up field when engine gets better.
                - denied any reported interest from the Kangaroos.

ex-Swan Peter Faulks is going to Freo, probably to replace Tarrant

GC trade 61 and Faulks to Freo for 55

Liam Pickering said on Trade Week Radio that Sherman was adamant that he doesn't want to go to Sydney.

I heard that interview and Pickers did sound adamant, but you can bet he's mostly playing the game, trying to make it sound to Brisbane like they need to trade with the Dogs only.

The ball is in Brisbane's court for sure. If they cave and accept the Dogs pick 30, he'll go, but if they stick solid and tell Sherman he can either go to Sydney (with the associated big bucks and play in a pretty reasonable side) or stay and fulfill his contract (still got 2 years left), surely we must be a chance.

Wasn't the whole point of Sherman leaving was because his fat back-ended contract couldn't be supported by the Lions? So is staying in Brisbane even a viable option, or has Brennan's departure alleviated their salary cap concerns?

Getting rid of Faulks is looking like it has the potential to bite us in the ass.

I hadn't heard of it being a salary cap issue at all, just a wish for Sherman to move to a footy community. You may be right Ugg, just hadn't heard that angle.

Pickers exact words (well, pretty exact anyway...lol) were that he is isolated in Brisbane from the adulation that being an AFL player brings. He wants to live in an environment that lives and breathes AFL, hence why he has said Sydney is not an option.

I like his game, but as I said in a few texts last night to Reggi and DrJ, if we chase and sign him, the 'no-dickheads' policy is well and truly dead, or maybe a fallacy, as many believed it was.
