Every Sherman you bring in is another Rohan etc that doesn't get game time and we have already brought in an Everitt who should be in the 22 (if he can get himself back to his first year form) for a reserves player (Ves) so that is one less spot for young player. I think with our list as it now stands unless we can get in a real game breaker then lets back our current and future youngsters to develop into at least as good as the Shermans on offer.

I wonder if we are still in the trade market or closing up shop for this year?

Bulldogs are very active, typical of a club desperately trying to close that last gap to the flag. Not only grabbed Ves but look o have Cat Djerrkerra, after Sherman and have interest in Blue Walker.
I thought their last gap for a flag was the recruitment of hall this year? Their so-called premiership window is slammed shut IMO, they obviously think sherman will replace harbrow and veszpremi brad johnston. I too am glad we aint gonna get sherman, a tad overated.

He has received just 6 Browlow votes in 114 games for his entire career. For a midfielder that's not that impressive. The best he has ever achieved in 114 games is one game in 2006 where he got 2 votes.

He was second in the Brisbane B and F, but that was way back in 2006.

And for the past four season, he has only had one completed year, 2009 where he played every game. For every other season, he has missed a total of 17 games out of a possible 66. That's only 75% of games he's played for three seasons.
I'm not concerned with the lack of Brownlow votes - umpires look at different things when voting. The missing games and the reasons they were missed is more relevant to the debate.

If games were missed because of injury that are a repeat or similiar type, this could mean that in future years his game time could be seriously impactde by lengthy spells on the injury list.

If it was because of suspension - then that could be a serious problem too, although we kept BBH in check for a while.

sherman is overrated. Glad we're not getting him FWIW. 2 years ago I would have been all for it purely from a pace aspect. Clearly this is not a problem anymore...

Heard it on trade week radio a couple of days ago. tried to post it but internet screwed up. Apparently not happy in sydney anymore. V. strange would be devostating to lose him when he's just started getting back to his best.
