I'm not going to mention the game but what I'm proud to say is the amount of Swans support tonight was Bloody fantastic. the amount of old South supporters round the place is a credit to the Melbourne/Sydney Swans.
Went with my bro and his mate just got home its like 4 hours to get back.

    Positives:

    Sam Reid
    Late season Goodes charge
    Hanners
    JPK
Jetta's best game by far, carried the ball well.

    Negatives:

Over umpiring with deliberates although i do agree with the Goodes knock through.
TDL dissapointed tonight and i can see what the coaches mean doesn't put on as much pressure as a small forward should
    Clangers
    Missed opportunities
Tadgh Kenelly may as well be a minus(Good player gone bevan like)
Sam Reid not kicking 18 goals.

Probably could think of more but too tired and still angry even though it was a great match.

Watching it on TV, I honestly thought off the boot that Goodesy had that goal for the first second or so.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

Parker's second set shot for goal, I love the kid but when Goodes is in the goalsquare on an opponent a head shorter than him with no one else within 20m and you decide to take the shot from 45 on an angle instead........ and miss.... it breaks my heart

as i said earlier our kicking from the backline is deplorable. Our kicking for goal is the same, I think JB is forwards coach he should be the back coach he played there. Play JW as a chb not ofrward, let him play straight ahead. And finally for those who watched game on fox is Dwayne Russell almost as bad as Wallsey and Lane, never stopped commenting on Essendon needing to win to stay in race for 8 forgot about Swans needing to win to stay in race for home final what a one sided commentary from him.

Not a very happy person this morning. My greatest disappointment is our inability to put sides away. Yes that Bolton kick and even worse the Jetta handpass. He did that twice in the last quarter. Jetta had his opponent done like a dinner both times and should have turned his player inside out like he does, but appears to have got a call for a handpass, but appeared not to know where that person was. Two very big clangers that tore the game open.

On Jetta, I disagree that he was any better apart from his 2 goals. He only had 10 possessions for 81% game time for 50 % effeiciency.
Frankly TDL is a waste of time. Again he was soft. I think someone mentioned tackling/forward pressure. far too kind; it's called soft and he does it every time he was elevated, mind you he hardly looked fit. Late in the 2nd quarter he sauntered to a contest on the wing and made a pathetic attempt at a tackle and Essendon scored a goal. Just nowhere near good enough. Suggest they should have replaced McVeigh with another small.

Coaching: Fair dinkum they gave Watson a free passage all night. He had 12 clearences, mostly from centre bounces. In the 2nd quarter he gave them momentum with 3 centre clearances in a row for 3 goals. No one was near him at the centre bounces. Yet Bird was on Stanton who was too quick for Craig and had 27 possessions. Watson is slower around the ground and I reckon Bird was a far better option on Watson who I think Jack picked up. As good as Goodes was Watson to me was the difference in the game. Incredibly quick hands and reads the play impecably.

Positives: Reid again, Johnson (did he try to pass or was he knackered) Mattner (fantastic 1%ers) Mummy (poorly treated by umps in marking contests, constantly hands in the back/arms knocked) Kennedy (but 48% efficiency! what is the point of working hard to get it if you turn it over 50% of the time) Smith, Richards again.

Hannaberry is an absolute star. His last quarter after being poleaxed was something to behold. He worked up and down the ground tirelessly in that quarter when most other players were looking for petrol tickets. It is a worry when week in week out he and Goodes seem to be the ones that keep us in the game.

            Negatives
Inabilty to put to put away an opposition of any quality.
Very patchy team performance. As per Goodes and Hanners comments.
ROK; another nothing game from him that he puts in almost every second week.
TDL; Offer him up to GWS. Trade him. Dead set seconds player.
LRT; please put the man down at fullback. Grundy makes too many mistakes for that position.
Grundy the clanger king. Undoes any good work with horrible decision making. Put him at CHB.
McGlynn; great goal but that's all. Field kicking is shocking as is his decision making. Going missing for long periods.
Jack and Bolton were so so perfomances which was indicative of our mixed bag midfield effort.
Parker looks to be running out of steam.
            Kennelly; gorn.
            Malceski can't be right.

Others will surely disagree but we played a team decimated by injury and left it to far too few to get a victory. I live for the day when our whole team turns up to play.

For those watching on TV, how bad did the Jack (I think it was Jack) report for charging look? He has a few points hanging over his head so he is surely at risk of missing at least next week, maybe the Saints game too?

Like nothing. So he'll probably go for 2 weeks knowing the MRP.

Just a silly thing to do. I thought he was off his game last night. Only took on the game a couple times. Not like his usual form.

Just throwing it out there, and not suggesting in that game he would have done any better than LRT, but I reckon Jesse White would have been crucified on here if he had a 3 disposal/8 hitout game. In fact if I recall correctly he was crucified after his last couple of games playing in the ruck (vs. Collingwood and Adelaide), across which he averaged 9 disposals and 8.5 hitouts.

Sometimes that backup ruck gig is a bit tricky.

On Kennelly, I noticed in the last quarter a couple of times he was well clear and available for a pass but it wasn't forthcoming. In one case I saw, I think Richards, look across to him and then decided to go elsewhere. Poor Tadgh is way down on confidence and his shocker of a fumble in the last quarter at half back was not good. He did though do a couple of good things under pressure, particularly that smother on what looked like a certain goal.

Trouble with Malceski and Tadgh not travelling well, I noticed on a couple of rotations Johnson found himself up forward and mind you didn't look out of place.

Don't disagree. I think LRT should be in the backline. Not a White fan but again anyone is better than TDL.

Yeah, he's kinda becoming the WD in junior netball who nobody will pass to. Too much of a liability.

The kicking accuracy has been shocking, obviously... And I bet they've been focussing on it hard. But I think with this type of thing, it's probably best just to ignore it and just hope it gets better... any pressure or focus on it is just gonna make it worse

You'll be pleased to know Stell that yesterday Jesse had his best half of football for the year. Not saying he's turned the corner but it gave me and more importantly himself some confidence that maybe not all is lost.
