If we bloody trade any one of our young guns for this overpriced hack, i will be absolutely livid.

I haven't read this thread the whole way through but the reality is as 707 has said. We are taking a big risk and the whole of the football world will be looking closely at how we manage to do this. We should be looking at bonuses to each of our players after this season and if that doesn't happen and the money all ends up with a new boy he really is going to have deliver in the face of some scepticism. I am sure that there has been a lot of discussion about this amongst the players and i just hope it is not causing a number of them to contemplate what their future with the club is.

I have said earlier that out forward structure has been a problem for two-three years and there is no doubt he would be able to be a really significant answer for that (he is a pretty mobile contested mark and at the scg on the end of jetta etc it would be amazing)

adelaide is entitled to ask for a player which finished in the best 10 in our b and f from last night. No doubt we have already looked at the list of players but we will not be able to give any of the players over the age of 26. That leaves all of the young talent. And I am deeply concerned about what this means. our young talent is what it is all about for the future - and we are talking jack, hanners, rohan, jetta. There is relatively little else on the list which jumps out as being the sort of thing they are after. after listening to the players talking at the skilton medal last night i wouldnt want anything to stop that belief they have as a group

worrying currently but i really do think that if it there has been a lot of discussion and there are some players who would be open to this without hurting what makes our club strong then it could be ok

Would have thought it'd take more than a week after the joy of a flag before some on RWO desecended into the same old negative garbage.

Good to see though that most trust the club to AGAIN make the right decision for the betterment of the club.

Bloody hell. Didn't we just win the flag?

I'm fairly comfortable with how things are going and I'll back the club to make the correct decision at the moment.

It wouldn't matter if we had 22 actual Swans play for us one week, I will love my club through thick and thin and it would take some catastrophic for me to throw in the towel and not support them again.
Spot on mcs. 2 flags in 7 years and we still have people carrying on as though they are following a club like Richmond.

1st and 2nd round pick might get it done or a decent player.

Adelaide fans are @@@@ing crazy! Can't believe the reaction to the move - they've known for about a year he's planning to go and even before he was close to leaving for GC. Geez its a bit OTT. We are fair traders anyway so its not like he's screwing them over.

The reaction to Gunston I can understand becasue he deadset did a runner, but I think Tippett has been way more open along the way. He just didn't want to stay in Adelaide - I don't understand how that is so hard to take.

Our club of everybody understands. How many promising kids (who turned into stars) ditched us as soon as they could in the bad period? We were a carcass that every club ate off and don't forget they tried to kill us off twice! This is some due karma and I'm not at all sorry that we've become an organisation widely respected and envied - a club that now attracts good players.

Some of the bitching in this saga is pretty funny though. The Lions made sure they gave us a whack for sneaking it and the Adelaide admin and Sando have been pretty aggressive - 'spat the dummy' is an accurate description. Patty Dangerfield had the gall to tweet Gazza and ask him if he wanted a move the the Crows. Cheeky kid.

                Go Swans!

People need to understand the feral reaction in Adelaide and it has nothing to do with football.

The entire state has an inferiority complex about its irrelevance and Tippett has just said very loudly and clearly - yep, this joint is such a dump and forget that stuff I said about wanting to go home, I just want out of this hole.

                  I think it's hysterical.

People really have NFI, we have the best people controlling who we bring into this club and if they think kurt tippett is going to further benefit the team, then ill back them 100%. They are not stupid, they know what they are doing and you would think 2 flags in 7 years aswell as many finals appearances over the last decade and beyond has proved this.

Well here is the real reason:
"Each of the three clubs - Brisbane, Gold Coast and Sydney - ticked lots of boxes, but even for Kurt to play under John Longmire, who actually played the same role that he plays, was a bit of a thing for him because he's never played under a coach who was more than about 5-foot-9."

I will be sad to lose any player off our list, like I always am, but I trust the football department at the Sydney Swans. They know what they are doing and prove it to us continuously. We've turned over our list significantly and just delivered a premiership under a new coach in his 3rd year. AMAZING! Without our best team on the ground too.
I just hope they look after any player that may form part of this trade and not send them to SA unless that is their destination of choice. I also hope they send any players to decent teams and not cellar dwellars.
BTW isn't Jesse's partner an Adelaide girl?
Can't wait to see what Taubert, Henry, Stewie et al make of Tippett if he comes.

After seeing out that full contract and then choosing to move elsewhere other than home, it's probably is a bit rich for Tippett and his manager to expect that the Crows honour what they think the original understanding (as opposed to specific contractual term) was..
You obviously have the inside run on KT's contract and it's status so who are we to argue....

Truth is I reckon you have as much idea as anyone else on here. I can't imagine national newspapers are making up the release clause and I'm sure as hell the KT's manager would have have gotten it in writing.

There's a lot of venting of spleens here re our list but I am sure that the exit clause is the only thing that makes the deal plausible for us and to be honest I can't understand why a club would allow that precedent to be set. I wouldn't expect us to trade any of our good young uns unless they ask for a trade.

How anyone on here can question the club's recruitment and list management nous in light of our recent dealings is completely bonkers....

                              Totally agree.

The Swans Management is leaps and bounds above whoever is second best, it isn't even close. Our record in doing all the things to build a successful club with a great culture is admired by all. However they make this Tippett deal work is fine by me. They've got the points on the board and certainly have my wholehearted backing.
