Don't think Brisbane will do that, massive win for us if they did.

(Which would indicate it is financial rather than recruiting) And if the salary stuff is right then the Swans would have to find White's salary for next year from under it's cap to pay Adelaide. So the question is, how much does Jesse earn and would there be room to fit Tippett in? (Maybe they could renegotiate the structure of the Tippett contract to accommodate things. And if Brisbane is interested in White as Adelaide believe, would this make them grab White before Brisbane or would they be hoping the lions would send a draft choice to the Swans to be on-traded. I suspect Brisbane would only give a 3rd rounder at best which I'm not sure would satisfy the Crows any more than the recruiting of White himself. The Swans have to make sure that if he is traded to Brisbane that the pick will help the Tippett deal. At present it looks as though Adelaide may take Jesse as part of a deal, but may not be interested in pick 53. (If we could snag pick 33 that would clinch the deal.)

I'm not totally dismissive of the notion that maybe everybody's assumption that we have been offering our first pick may be flawed. Maybe we have been trying to force them to take our second round pick. Noble's throw away line about a coach suddenly deciding to put a first rounder on the table seems odd since Tippett has indicated that he will only go to the Swans and no-one else except GWS has mentioned him, except to say they're not interested.

(Matthew Lloyd has suggested Carlton should clear out a half a million dollar player and just take Tippett in the PSD whether he likes it or not. Plus they must have some bickies in the bank if they were interested in Cloke)
I think Trigg is telling porkies but wants to make it sound like he's done something clever at the last minute that has always been part of the deal.

There is no way known that Brisbane will give up pick 8 in exchange for White and our pick 23.

If they did, there would be no way we would then give it up for Tippett..

Hmmm! Pick 8 would be nice. Better than Tippett IMHO.

Porplyzia is a quality player who has had a pretty wretched run with injuries. Petrenko was much improved this year as a defensive forward. I wouldn't call him a spud.

Well I will be disappointed if we have to pay White's salary next year if he is at Adelaide, and I think the swans should stand firm and not agree to this.

Sounds like if we pay JW salary the deal is done for sure.

Reeks of the Crows trying to salvage something from the situation.

It doesn't quite add up to me. Either the Crows see some value in White, in which case you'd kinda think they ought to pay him for the privilege, or they don't, in which case why take him onto their list and dislodge someone else in the process. Given how much they'd put aside for Tippett and the fact they haven't chased anyone else, you'd think they have plenty of room in their cap this year.

If the Crows are ambivalent about White and we have to pay his salary, I think I'd rather we kept him on Our list to play for Us next year.

I really want jesse to succeed, and I almost dont care where it will be. I sort of hope he does go to adelaide and it really works for him, but i do wonder whether it wouldn't be better for jesse and the crows if he wasnt the steak knives. I really hope they aren't just taking him because they kinda have to take something because of their fans
