Please football gods, round off the best five weeks of football by delivering a re-signed Zak Jones this week.

Every week he remains un-committed his odds of leaving shorten significantly now.....

I would love him to stay, but if he doesn't so be it. Last year I was hoping that Tom Mitchell would stay but that didn't eventuate. Anyway I trust the recruiters, so if one door closes and another opens.

I heard a rumour that Ludwig is cloning Allir Allir and getting us to draft him under the rule where they can pluck a player from nowhere if they haven't played competitive footy or as an International recruit. He will be known as Allir Allir Allir Allir. That will bamboozle BT.

I hear Ablett's available. Pulled out of the Swans game so as not diminish his value for his Sun's Overlords.
The eternal connundrum "what happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object" was finally solved when David Hasselhoff punched himself in the face.

Getting more and more nervous regarding Zac and Sam.
A lot of previously unsigned players are now re-signing (after the CBA), but our 2 boys haven't.
Maybe Sam is waiting to see who is going to coach the Pies (pure speculation on my part, but hope it isn't true.)
Now that Hodge is hanging up the boots at years end it frees up money for Zac to join Tom Mitchell, or Zac is waiting to see how the Dees go.

Hope neither of these options are true and both boys stay with us.

                      Me too....

If Zak hasn't signed by the end of this month he is 100% gone in my book. Surely the Hawks will not have the trade currency to trade him in and they won't get him in the PSD draft as he wouldn't last that long, though I'd be tempted if they offered up their first rounder for 2018 for him and a sweetener by us. As Boddo says though I doubt many clubs will be trading future picks this year.

I also don't think the Hawks have heaps of spare cash and Hodgey was on low coin this year, Mitch, JOM and (laughably) Vickery were all tempted on decent money. My money would be on either the Dees or the Saints and I think either would give up a first rounder this year for Zak, the Saints in particular have millions in their war chest and nowhere to spend it at the moment so they worry me.

Sammy I fully expect to go down to the wire. He is doing what any player in his situation should do and let us not forget that we probably also wanted to see evidence of fitness before putting an offer to him as well.

I expect to see two of Reid, Tippett and Zak stay. If Zak hedges he is going so we'll up the offer for him and the urgency to trade Tippo will subside. If Zak re-signs then I think we'll do all we can to free us some additional cap space and Tippo could be the one on the move, even if we only free up $300,000 net on his trade that could get the Reid deal done.

I remain surprisingly philosophical about these two though. The bones of our list is very good. If we lose either we'll be going to the draft with two first rounders for the first time in many a year. Let's not forget we made a GF without Reid - as an aside could Gary be the KPF replacement for Sammy if he goes? He has very good hands, is tall and I think he is a much better lead...

Stressful as it is to contemplate losing Jones and/or Reid, I am sure they're are feelers being put out for all case scenarios. Hope it is not so, but if we lose one or both, if may free cap cap space to retain the other young guns we have for the long term. Hewitt, Lloyd, Florent, Hayward,Papley, Melican , Allir etc.

If they offered their 2018 first pick I'd take it n run. The words super draft gets thrown around a lot but I believe next years will be a rippa. Top end talent that runs deep. Blakey would be rated only 8,9 or 10 ATM just as an example how good that draft would be. I'd also add Carlton to that list trying to get Jones. If they can't get Kelly they'll keep going to the next cab off the rank. In regards to Rohan I always believed at the latest he would hit regular form next year with all his set backs. I'd be surprised if Tippet was traded. Full agree in regards to Reid.

Jones is good, but easily replaceable. I'd be keeping Reid. Our other key forwards are getting a bit long in the tooth. buddy will begin to drop off after 2018, and tippet the same.

I disagree. Easily replaceable by ______ ? Feel free to fill in the blank. Jones has a lot of aggression, run, speed, can tackle and his skill with the ball is impressive too. I don't think we have a ready-made replacement in the twos, nor can I pinpoint a like for like player who is available at the moment.
