Longmire said Tippett is having an ankle operation. What club will be bidding for him on this news? The speculation on Tippett is Fake News.

Allir is a strange one. We can only assume that there was a bit more to his late arrival at training or whatever.
Something doesn't add up there, as he was playing pretty well, and then left in the reserves. No chance given when opportunities arose.
So either they have a plan for him (ala Dawson) or he's not in the good books. I call a even odds on both potential options.
Will be interesting to see if he is safe at the trade table.
I expect Talia to be desisted. Called it at the time of the drugs stuff. No place at the Swans.
Forget about the imaginary no dickheads policy, what he did went against the grain of all the Swans are, and are trying to be, and it was the right call to let him dwindle away.
Talia is a certainty to be delisted. BJack, Rose, Leonardis and Murray all in the firing line tooComment

Id get rid of Tippet and Rohan and BJ. Keep Allir and Talia. 1 year extension for AJ with a requirement for at least 6 senior games next year for an extension.
Tippett, because this is the last year he actually has trade value.
Rohan, because he really needs a new environment .
BJ, because he's been on the list 3 years too long already.
Allir, needs to break into the seniors next year.
Talia to be kept for Reg.Comment

You are dreaming if you think Talia will stay on our list. Papers stamped long time ago.He ate more cheese, than time allowedComment

Would like to see us look at jack watts. Get him into a team where he isnt looked to be the game breaker and he could flourish. The bloke can play just think he has too much expectation at the Ds. Dont know what melbourne would want as compo but surly we can make the deal work.

No surprises with the delistings, but I thought Edwards would hang in there for another year. I wonder if he retired under his own volition.
There's little risk in delisting and redrafting Murray and Rose as rookies if we want to open more spots on the senior list. Even McVeigh can be delisted and drafted as a rookie. There won't be playing restrictions on Cat A rookies next year. I still don't think the new list rules have been released to the public.
I wouldn't mind seeing COR get upgraded even though he didn't have a great year. I think injury and being in a strong NEAFL backline dampened his effectiveness, but he has the tools to be an AFL player. I believe there's another crack Irish player on the market this year and wouldn't mind having a go for him.
I wonder if Murray can be drafted for a 2nd time as a Cat B rookie.
I would love to unload one of our ruckmen, but it's not looking likely. Otherwise, Harry Marsh looks the best option for a trade out. Both WA clubs look wanting in the HB position (could open a midfield spot for Yeo).Comment

Not surprised one bit. I said it was a possibility a few weeks ago. I've said for a while it's a very shallow draft with not a lot after the second round. So there's not a lot to gain going into the 3rd round let alone the 4th.Comment

If we traded Tippett for salary cap space I like the sound of Meese, old fashioned ruckman who may not play a lot of games but who won't let us down and from the sound of it provide good internal training for our young rucks

This may well be the case but I think we'll take our third pick in the ND. We currently have pick 3 at 50 assuming that the Lions get a Priority for Rockliff. Think we'll try and upgrade that pick rather than effectively have our third pick in the rookie draft. Even in a weak draft you are still okking at the top half of strong Under 18 teams and we should get a defender or ruckman depending on who we ship out.

I'd do this:
I liked Ludwigs idea of trading Marsh for a pick from freo. An upgrade of Marsh n pick 50 for pick 40 id be happy with. N I think they would. I don't think they'd go the straight swap of Marsh for 40.Comment

According to the Swans website, Melican is still a rookie. Why would he be upgraded? Surely best to leave him where he is and take 4 ND picks?Comment
