      James Worpel should be available at around our pick in this draft. He's a tough inside mid and would be the perfect replacement for Joey. 12 months ago he was being touted as the number one pick. His only weakness is his disposal by foot, similar to Joey. Is it too soon to be looking for a replacement for Joey? The way he's going, he could have another 5 years left in him.

        If he's best available you pick him. It's such a shallow draft it's going to be very hard to target a specific position/role that the club needs. plus a bit will depend on any possible trades.

          I'd be ok with splitting the next 6 flags with GWS 3 all.

                Does anyone else think that we are in such a good position going into trade/draft season? All our requireds are on contract. We have some tremendous currency so there might be some teams with dracmars in their kick and that might be keen to access some of our depth.

                Not suggesting that any players be moved on without consent and I'm talking about depth players here, but there might be better contracts/opportunities on offer elsewhere and we can get overs in trades for better picks in the draft or alien listed players with a potential big improvement when folded into our system.

                I just think we might see a bit more trade activity than might first be expected.

                  No. Just gobsmacked that any Swans supporter would actually wish for GWS to win a premiership.

                    The evenness of the competition means that no team including ours can ever be complacent. Everyone is looking to improve each year and if you don't you effectively go backwards. It's great that we have re-signed all stars. It will be interesting to see what happens with fringe players off season. Alir is the one who has some currency who might be tradeable. I don't think anyone will be too interested in Tippett.

                      You do, but as it's a draw you only get half.

                          I wouldn't wish a premiership for any other team. But least if all GW$ ... or Hawthorn ... or Collingwood ... or ... well, any of them!

                            Based on some comments on RWO , one must ask;

                            "If the Swan's don't win the premiership, did the season actually happen?"

                              Jonathan Freeman might be worth bringing to the swans, still young for a KPF and an area where we could use some depth

                                I wouldn't think we need cover in our KPF area with Buddy, Reid, Sinclair and Tippett there already not to mention Darcy Cameron who was looking OK before he was injured. Plus hopefully young Blakey in the wings.

                                Organic growth for 2018 I hope. We have Tippett, Florent, Cunningham, Dawson, Hayward and Aliir out of our best 22 on the weekend (adjusted for Melican's late withdrawal) so there will be red hot competition for spots next year. The last thing we need is more average depth imo
