If that's the case and Horse has lost the players then the club really is in "ferment".

BTW I don't think most players are driven by $. I think they want to have the chance to win a premiership. If the belief is gone it would explain Parker's alleged coffee. I really hope this is NOT the case.
I'm sorry, but where is Hanners being "forced out of the club".
No one is holding a gun to his head.
    HE PUT HIS HAND UP.
    That's not "forcing" anything, mate.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.

Jeez it's funny to watch the trade rumours causing panic. Seriously Sydney look like being active during trade window (something we've traditionally always done) and all of a sudden our premiership window is closed and the club is in turmoil.

      Deep breaths, please..

Do we know why Hanners is leaving? I dont think we do.

But I suspect he’s been encouraged to seek a trade. Hence us potentially paying part of his salary (allegedly according to Neil Cordy).

This is because we want to spend his salary on new players.

If he’s jumping ship I’d be even more concerned about those Parker rumours.

We have no idea whether we'll be paying any part of Hannebery's salary as that will be dependent on the return we get for him. As he's contracted (and IF his trade eventuatues), we won't take unders at the trade table AND pay his salary.

We also don't know who we're chasing as trade targets, so there are a stack of dominoes that need to fall in to place.

The seriously good news is: we're doing something!

Harley addressed the Parker rumour just a few days ago when it first surfaced, saying Parker was happy & no indication whatsoever he was seeking a trade, making the point Parker is joining in on a players offseason trip. Harley made it clear that Parker won't be on the trade table, so even if there is any hint of truth with these rumours he's not going anywhere as he's contracted till end of 2021.
He's seen by many as future captain after JPK.

This, to me, is lunacy. The moment you become a professional athlete, I would think you should play (and play hard) for whomever you are contacted to play for. You are an adult and I don't care if you are homesick. Now I understand (and support) someone like Hanneberry moving on because it benefits both sides and sometimes a player needs fresh start. But it seems every year, more and more young guys, with years left in their contracts, are demanding trades to "go home". Am I missing something here? It seems to me that teams need to learn to say "no" and demand the professionals be professionals. I understand they may leave when their contracts expire, but it frequently appears like the lunatics are running the asylum.
I can understand your lack of understanding this apparent quirk of our game.

I realise that in the US, and particularly in baseball, that home does not exist as a bargaining chip; nor does it have any bearing on where players are traded to or from. In fact, in the Major Baseball leagues, it is not uncommon for a player to be traded on Tuesday and be in his new uniform within 24 hours and playing for his new employer.

AFL is much newer to some of the trade conditions in the US professional sports. Free agency is something we hardly even understand properly as yet. So give us a little time to get on top of some of that.

Victoria is , in a lot of circles, esp around Melbourne, considered the "home' of football. It is practically a religion there, and dominates TV, Radio, Press and public conversation. There are players who thrive on the spotlight which is constantly shone on them in Melbourne. These players seek to either get to Melbourne or to return there. There are also many more opportunities for players to receive outside match cash in Melbourne. Media, advertising companies all clamour to hand over cash for kind. Of course, there are players who hate that spotlight, and avoid it as much as possible.

So, a lot of guys seeking Melbourne jobs are not actually lusting for Mum's home cooking. To a smaller extent, the same thing happens to Adelaide and Perth jobs.
Rarely do you hear of a homesick Sydney or Brisbane player.

I think homesickness is almost non existent as the rest of the community understand it. It's the chase for a bigger audience or a bigger payday, carelessly disguised.

Are you sure we're getting enough out of this trade? Maybe we should demand that they throw in their 4th round draft pick as well.

I'll assume that you just finished reading Donald Trump's book The Art of the Deal.

Then.....it is very un-Swans like right now.

I think Sinclair is out of contract. I was wondering what was happening with him.
