What do people think AA is worth?

He's in our top 22 and can play very well. Late 1st round pick. Definitely not a late 2nd rounder.

So after trawling Wiki, it appears we have 31 on the senior list.

If the list size for next year is 38, we can take seven point bearing picks to the draft, we currently have four - 3, 25, 58, 62.

Talk is that there will only be 50-55 picks this year meaning 20+ point bearing picks being unused by other teams, herein lies an opportunity to trade 25 & 58 for extra picks worth more points.

I wouldn't trade 58 and 62. By the time we need to match a bid on Gulden, these picks would have moved up about ten spaces in the draft because the Bulldogs (JUH), Port (Jones) and Collingwood (McInnes) would have burned about ten picks between them.

So reckon we're working on something, maybe why AA was expendable?

Hmmm feels like another average deal for us. Could understand if AA was out of contract but he isn’t ( grantee he will be an RFA next year I believe).

I just can’t get my head around us being in a cap squeeze, even with buddy’s contract next year. I only wonder if we are making some extra room to bring in someone else, another stealth buddy type deal, but at this late stage of the game I couldn’t think who we might have our sights on.

I understand we seem to have a bit of a ‘nice guy’ attitude at the trade table but I’m yet to see how that is doing us any favours in recent times.

Oh well let’s see what tomorrow brings I guess!

Pick 60 mentioned by ugg is 146 points (roughly the difference between picks 4 and 5).

I think this is the last time I read this thread....the negativity is rife.....and extremely annoying! I'm no expert on trading, I'll admit that but to read the opinions of armchair experts is frankly depressing.

Some of our trading is testing fans patience and on the surface seems strange but please, keep the faith.

Hickey is not the answer. He is a very lightweight ruck option. There are/were better rucks out there which we didn't go after.. Preuss is one that comes to mind. Had we had an inkling that AA was going to go, we should have gone after Preuss (who I liken to the Nank). He is 25/26 who would have given us a lot of good service, rather than a second/third rung option like Hickey. In my humble opinion, the Swans were asleep at the wheel there. Something is not quite right in the list management space.

Preuss hasn't fired a shot yet at AFL level. Big and strong doesn't mean he's any good.
