I see Amartey, Melican and Ling got contract extensions. I think Matthew Ling can consider himself very lucky.

If Ling gets an uninterrupted pre-season then we'll know by the end of next year whether he can play. Worth a punt. Amartey is very lucky.Comment

Ling on a one-year, and what I assume to be cheap, deal is fair enough. Let's find out once and for all, and I thought there were a couple of good signs in the games he played.'Delicious' is a fun word to sayComment

Despite the fact they've used a picture of Lloyd in the article, we are looking to trade Hewett!
We are tight on our salary cap, which is "complicating" the Tom Hickey deal. I guess Buddy's $1.5m next year will do that. Also AA has had a medical at Port
Sydney exploring trade for midfielder
Sydney has been exploring a trade for George Hewett. In something of a surprise, the Swans are open to the possibility of dealing Hewett to a rival club with a year to run on his contract. Hewett has grown into a hardworking, accountable midfielder since breaking into the Swans’ line-up in 2016, but a back injury and subsequent surgery cruelled his 2020 season. It’s understood Sydney’s salary cap is tight, forcing them to consider options. Hewett also qualifies for free agency at the end of next season after eight years at the SCG.
But Hewett is determined to stay at the club.Comment

Mitch Cleary reporting: "Keep an eye on the Aliir Aliir deal, I think it could still move between Sydney and Port Adelaide"

Does that mean Allir for Ladhams or that they'll give us a pick for AA, which we'll give to the Weagles for Hickey?

More on the AA potential trade. It sounds like he's keen to go, mainly for more $ and job security. Swans may not be in a strong position to offer him a similar deal, but he IS contracted.

I think the fact that we have re-signed Melican for 3 years strongly indicates that we are happy for AA to go. Loss of Hewitt is not good, especially as he wants to stay. The Buddy pay is killing us. Luckily, his pay drops to only $1 million next season!Comment
