As disappointed as I am, and as much as I would like Dawson to show "loyalty" for all the development and investment we have put into him, I don't feel he owes us. There is no loyalty in footy, or not much. In particular, players can't count on the club being loyal to them - as someone else just posted a moment ago, ask Hewett about that. Or Hannebery. Or Rohan.

It can't be a one way street where we expect players to be loyal when they can't be assured that will be reciprocated. The most we can do is make our club an attractive place to be - through on-field success, by being well managed, and by making it a fun, caring and enjoyable place to be. And by using our TPP wisely so we can reasonably remunerate the players. That way we maximise the odds that players will choose to stay with (or come to) us, even if they could get more money elsewhere.

Is there a connection between Mitchell and Dawson being held back in their early years when they were clearly good enough to be in the top 22 and them leaving.
Would others feel the same knowing that players were picked this year who were not best 22.

Dawson wasn't fit enough early in his career and he admitted that himself.

MCS has articulated this perfectly. I suggest you get behind MCS in calling out people who personally attack people on social media.

I don't approve of people attacking/abusing others on social media but it is the way things are....are you saying he shouldn't have expected blowback? That's all I'm saying.....and if some of those comments make him have a good hard look at himself and his motives in life, so be it.

He should expect negativity - sure. But no-one should have to put up with some of what people post in those spaces. Just like the nonsense Bell had to face the other week. It should not be condoned in any way 'okay behaviour', no matter how frustrated, how annoyed, how angry one is about something.

I agree with this.....I never condoned the abuse, just said he should expect it.
