2021 trading, drafting and list management: players and personnel
…Nobody else was in the Gymnasium. I said to my best mate “who’s that”. He said “Jordan Dawson, guy who plays reserves with that blistering left foot kick”. He was rehabbing all by himself. While his fellow reserves players were most probably entertaining groupies, Dawson was doing rehab.
In the words of TheBloods “Dawson was taking his career seriously”…
Or maybe it explains why he’s always looking a bit sad?
This is the first player I've been really disappointed to lose. There was a comparison earlier and Dawson being an investment and turning him from a pick 50 to a pick 6.. sorry, this is like selling Apple shares just before the iPhone was released.
Most players to have left I've been ok with so far. Aliir was more that we got unders. But even Mitchell winning a Brownlow didn't bother me that much. But this feels different, and for a number of reasons.
Connecting the range of media commentary, I think we can rule out cap issues here. And really, he's not getting more money at Port. Maybe a lower cost of living. But this looks like a personal decision. Would love to have some form of commentary from the club or player on it soon.
And we should be getting a high pick or a ready made player in return. Second round picks or future picks, no thanks. We're about to hit a window in the next 3 years.

He was on the gym by himself doing the extras to succeed. He knew the adminstrative area would be open on game day and took the opportunity to do the work. He was injured at the time so was clearly doing rehab. The fact that he was there by himself says more about other members of the Swans list not taking their careers seriously.
I know fans generally like to 'eat their own' Ludwig, but that's going a bit far isn't it, sepcifically targeting players for their food quality
Yes. You're right. I forgot that TheBloods has reported that we already have a food quality KPD on our list in Will Gould.

Underrated and Kennedy has a yr in him
I feel exactly the opposite. We need to use the loss of Dawson to double down on fixing our salary cap problems. I would like to see us go into the 2022 trade period in decent salary cap shape and able to compete for quality recruits that can carry us over the premiership line.

He was doing rehab, as you say, which is what injured players are supposed to do. He was probably alone because he doesn't like to socialize. I know, because I hang out on RWO so I don't have to socialize with real people. I just say that I'm busy writing a book, or rehabbing my fingers.

Contradicted yourself a bit there. You say he was doing extras but then say he was doing rehab. So, he was actually doing what he was supposed to do and not doing extra work at all. The fact that he was on his own means nothing! Perhaps the others who weren't injured didn't have to be there. Or didn't have to be there at the exact time that you walked past. Perhaps the other players were doing community based work. Maybe he'd been naughty and had been given detention! Who knows? Your assertion that he was doing extra work of his own volition and no-one else was prepared to do that is seriously flawed!
not replacing someone immediately with what Dawso brings to a game in 2021 is a step backwards
1. Keep Dawso absolutely the best strategy
2. PLAN B - need to trade in equivalent in output / game contribution if we are serious about improving on our 6th spot in 2021.............we are in a window with Bud and Kennedy and Rampe still on deck and lively

Not at all. It was 40 minutes before the senior teams opening bounce. There are many young ladies coming into the administrative area to watch the game in corporate boxes.
Jordan was ignoring all this distraction while focusing on his rehab. No body else was in there doing the rehab with him. His mates were most probably entertaining these groupies and not doing the extra work.
Where are Dawsons 2018 reserves mates now? Probably assistant coaches at Sydney Uni while he’s bordering on AFL superstardom.
I want Jordan back.
Come on Swans. Hold your nerve and give Jordan the option of joining North Melbourne in the preseason draft or signing with us.
BS, I’m sorry, but statements like that are simply absolutely worthless. Anyone can claim they’re with such and such and they will corroborate their claim.
It’s a positive story that a young player is working hard. I saw a bloke who looked like COR pounding the pavement in Centennial Park yesterday. This is all tremendous stuff.
