Eyecatchers: Top-flight talent on display in WA v SA U19s clash
Although this draft has been described as one mostly comprising midfielders and other smaller types, WA seems to have a handful of quality talls, all of whom are mentioned in this article. Forwards tend to be picked with early picks but it's possible one of the defenders may still be available when our pick comes around.Comment

I don't doubt we have some cap challenges, and most clubs with a half-decent list will too'Delicious' is a fun word to sayComment

They get a lot of their info from player agents who are promoting their players for a bigger commission. Never underestimate these leeches. Happens every year.Comment

Dribble or not , wheres the news of the re-signings ? There havent been any . We obviously had the money for Amartey , Rowbottom , Chad etc and got them re-signed this year , so why do you think we cant get far better players like Parker and Dawson re signed ?? Because the money isn't there ! We have F'd it somewhere and i can think of a few places where that might 've happenedComment

Unfortunately, until we actually announce a re-signing or two, the media will keep sprouting these salary cap claims…. and to be frank, the longer it takes to make these announcements, the more likely are that they are true. Exit interviews would’ve been completed, Bob Stilton medal all done, players are officially in the off-season.Comment

Speaking of Parker, 700k for 4 years is a bargain. Now the spiritual leader of the club, never plays a bad game. He is to us what Bont, Dusty, Danger etc are to their clubs. I'm betting we don't have the cash.Comment

I agree. Parker and Dawson, 1 and 3 in our B&F and still not signed. At this stage of the year, this can only mean the club and what these two are after is massive. Haven't even started talking to George. All three must be vulnerable to an offer from elsewhere, with our only hope being that no one else wants to offer them the big bucks.

I blame it all on Tippett.
It is all guess work at this point bar those who are actually 'in the know' - I still suspect we will keep Dawson and Parker but Hewett may well go. And well Stephens could go either way - but only time will tell.

If it turns out we have to let go Hewitt or Parker due to salary cap pressure then we have definitely f#%ked up, given the bottom six of the first 22 and the next six.
Compare us with Geelong, Port, Melbourne, Richmond (before recent mass retirements) or the Bulldogs and who have in their top 28 (look at their outs that they bring in).
We have Wicks, Warner (potentially a very good player but should be low wages at this stage of his career), COR, Fox (is/was a rookie), Melican, Reid, Almartey, Bell, Florent perhaps, McLean, Stephens and let’s also say Naismith.
Then you also have Clarke, Taylor, Gray and Ronke who are apparently not in the top 28.
We must have majorly stuffed up the finances if we have to lose Parker or Hewitt, when our depth is so shallow or average comparison to the current and recent contenders.Comment

We are all speculating now, and hope to be proven wrong.

We made some mistakes this year and years past, why did we resign Naismith ? Cant get on the park . I hear Blakeys on more than the average 21 yr old to try and keep the Roos away . Rowbottom wont be cheap , he signed after finishing top 10 in b&f so will be over rated at the club , why the F we signed Florent til 2022 i have no idea , Hayward signed til 2025 ? Good player but for a medium fwd , give me a break . Amartey 2 yrs so we value him , his $ will reflect that . Melican , o'riordan , taylor these types we completely over rated and have signed for longer than they are worth which means they will be getting paid more than they are worth . Reid will still be on his last contract even though he cant get on the park to save his life !
Theres 10 who we are over paying , and thats not even getting into what Heeney is probably on , a bloke who cant even crack the AA squad or our b&f top 5 .
One or 2 you can overpay and you will be fine , overpay too many and something will have to give ,Comment

Better sign up Parker ASAP. Neale apparently wants back to Freo, Lions will be looking for a replacement and will be armed with a bucket of cash. If I was Fagan, Parker would be the first guy I call. Perfect replacement for Neale, both in style and culturally.Comment
