No mention of anything extra on top of that.
It would be illogical to offer us next year's Melbourne's first rounder alone, given it's not an advance on the Bulldogs' pick 17 in the year's draft, which we've already knocked back.

        Buyer beware.

(Unless it's clearly salary cap related, as with Collingwood last year. But that can't apply to Freo this year, surely. Not after they've been saved the money they wanted to pay to Cerra.)
Yes, though I think we know why they’re shopping him around.

He makes it on the park around 15 games a year. He can’t ruck. He kicks less than a goal a game. He hates contests. And he’s paid a motza.

He had one good year in footy, his second (from memory). And he’s lived off that perception ever since.

This is the gist of the article - it seems fair to me.

The Swans are disappointed to lose a player they consider a star in the making just as they are re-launching a tilt at the flag, and they are entitled to be.
The Crows should try to find them a pick inside the top 15 in this year’s draft, a near impossible task given how few are selling.
Assuming they won’t offer their future first-round pick, which would be an advantage to the Swans, Dawson should cost Adelaide the future first-round pick tied to the Demons and at least pick 33 in this year’s draft.
He is better than that, but given what is available that sounds a deal worth making.

If we can get Port to take that pick 33 for Ladhams I’d be ok with that.

I still don’t understand why the Crows chose not to trade for pick 17 this year?

They were going to trade for pick 17 but we knocked it back

Great idea, and if he nominated 1mil than it just screws over the club he is joining...ofcourse as long as the contract has the buddy requirement and isnt able to be renegotiate no matter what....

However even in that scenario there is nothing stopping Dawson putting a million dollar value on his head, knowing we don't have the cap space & still get to Adelaide for nothing.

Few rumours going around that the original 17+ steak knives was in fact 17 - steak knives (i.e. a pick swap in favour of the crows). No wonder we told them to get real if that was indeed the case.

Gee doesn't sound like the crows to be unreasonable. Horribly club, who's fans feel they are a cut above the rest.

Cowboys. Dragged into an unedifying @@@@fight with absolute chancers. They don't even know the player they are getting.

A nice summary. Looks like he should be everything, delivers next to nothing.

If we ended up with pick 33 + Melbourne's future 1st it wouldn't be too bad. It's off the mark of Dawson's value, but we know we're not going to get that. These are 2 reasonable picks that could produce good players. It's below fair value, but not outrageously so. I wouldn't push back too hard if that offer is on the table.

I think there's been a good balance of arguments pro and con Ladhams. If KB thinks he can strike a good deal for him, I'm fine with that and if we don't get him, I'm fine with that too.

If our list management team have been doing their homework in a year when it's been very hard to do so, there might be some good finds in the 30s part of the draft. There must be good players with little exposure. It might not be a bad part of the draft to have 3 picks.

Yeah, I've come to this. Of course, that's Peter Ryan's construction - it's not presented as their offer, so we'll see.

Not that it really matters, but it's hard to envisage Melbourne's pick next year as anything other than 17 or 18.
