Matt Rendell gives us an E for trade grade as we did nothing! Reckons we need a big key defender to match Tom Hawkins. Gave Fairy Puppies a B- for bringing back Liam Jones who might now be well past it and Lobb and for losing Dunkley,Cordy, Shache and Hunter. I would happily reverse these grades.

Matt Rendell's lack of competence was beautifully outlined earlier on in this very thread. I'd recommend taking a look rb4xComment

Rendell once said Campbell was a good kick, so he can gets things right occasionally, much like a broken clock.
As for his grading, I assume it is based solely on the quantity of trades. In that case, yes, we would get an E, but of course it doesn't consider that we have re-signed a lot of our young stars and are showing great faith in a young squad that made the grand final.Comment

Rendell gave us an E for not addressing what he sees as a pressing need, which is a 198cm plus tall defender.
I think that’s not completely unreasonableComment

Bit who? St Kilda picked up Zane Cordy but their judgement is woeful. Cordy came from a backline that let the Dogs down in 2022. We picked up Francis that the club thinks can play a role down back and he came from the worst backline. Lets just go to the draft and see if we can snag one of the better defensive talls and develop him for a couple of years time.Comment

There weren't any that you'd actually want to hold down one of your valuable list spots!
I sat next to Matt Rendell on a plane flight when he was early days working for the Pies, from memory it was when draft points were first introduced because we chatted for ages about points. It was an interesting 90 minutes. But he seems to have gone seriously downhill as a draft intellect since then. Some of his reported ramblings on Trade Radio are laughable in their lack of knowledge on list management.
Looks like Rendell equates lots of moves with a good grade, Saints and Essendon of days past would have rated highly on the Rendell Trade Meter, shown now to have been busy periods that failed.Comment
