The commentators said that Sinclair had announced his retirement. Not sure if that’s correct, but it wouldn't be unexpected if he has. With McAndrew, except for his injuries, I'm actually quite pleased with his progress, considering the number of games of Aussie rules that he's played in his life, is probably around 30: including academy and SFL. When in the ruck, he often gets his hands to it, he competes hard, tackles well, has a few nice touches and is actually pretty quick.

That said, I wouldn't mind using our second first rounder on the best available ruckman.

Sinclair only played on this year I believe because the club asked him too, so doesn't suprise me at all. An unsung workhorse for the club - offered more then enough when he was still at AFL level for the club, and now has served the ressies and younger players exceptionally well the last couple of years of ressies football.

Give it a break, Matty is just into his first season and will learn from the experience. Another preseason for Matty and some of the youngsters will do them all the world of good. I'm sure our coaches will.provide Matty with feedback on what he needs to work on. Time is on his side

I thought adding to your list Longmile that Campbell tried hard and did some good stuff. But precious few winners across the park.

Would certainly prefer Ronke to be a medi-sub to Wicks. Did really well in a well beaten side off very few chances today.
Yes, it was disappointing, but having just had a look at Melbourne's injury list, I'm less disappointed. I tend to think that the most reliable predictor of VFL games, is the number of AFL listed players in the side. Unless they've left a player or two off the list, their only injured player is someone called Andy Moniz-Wakefield.

Yes, I've always admired his wholehearted efforts.

Yeh not suprising the result, but just thought a few of our guys you would have hoped could have more influence really strugged. They have an exceptionally strong list of VFL listed players too - plenty of AFL experience amongst them too.

Odd there hasn't been an official announcement of Sinkers retirement, especially given that he was a mainstay in the 22 for 3 or so years

That's right. We cut the three and bring in another for longer term development, probably through the draft. Hickey and Ladhams can handle the AFL level ruck duties until Hickey is too old to play.

People forget how influential Naismith was at the time he broke down. His injury was greeted by commentators as derailing our season which hadn't started and we ultimately suffered because Sinkers was forced to play most of the season as first ruck. If Sam's knee happens to stand up, then he will be an absolute bonus. At this stage, I see his situation as more promising than McAndrew.
Those who have the greatest power to hurt us are those we love.

I was keen on Meek a year or two back as he seems like a good solid unit with some potential but he extended with the Dockers until the end of next year.

Was McAndrew that bad!. I would give someone at 209cm a bit more time to develop. In a couple of previous games I watched he was able to just lean over and pluck the ball out of the hands of a shorter opponent on a few occasions.

I thought Sinclair played one of his best games in a while today. He has certainly been a worthy Swans' player.

I am worried for Gould! It is sad that he hasn't had an opportunity to play in the firsts, his strengths don't seem to be what we need but there is no way of knowing how he would fit in alongside the McCartins and Blakey unless he gets a game. I cannot see him working as a replacement for Rampe.

Late bump on Woewodin. Wasn't that damaging, but it was high, drew a little bit of blood, and since Woewodin was out of bounds, totally unnecessary.
