I doubt it, it's just not the done thing at the swans to trade a bloke in from interstate and then trade him out a couple of seasons later

    * cue a RWO poster giving me an example of such an occurrence

any thoughts..........given Smithys amazing development as a tagger and given that we have a lot of midfielders playing upfront and on the bench and reserves .........
It won't happen, but with Keneally, Mattner and Shaw all of similar age we should be looking to free up at least one of these spots for a young player (e.g playing Rohan off half back)

Both wanted out and had been at the Swans for 5+ seasons

McCaigue, Heath, Sumner, Vez are all potential HBFers of the future (or even the present).

              Nah.
He's signed a three year contract.

Why the hell would you want to get rid of Shaw anyway???
He's BY FAR in our top 22 - consistently.

Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

Surely Jolly played far more than 49 games in red and white? He was with us for 5 seasons and barely missed a game through injury in that time.

Royboy42 may be quoting from 'past player' info on Sydneyswans.com.au. It appears the info has not been updated since the end of the 2006 season.

I believe the more accurate games played are:

                    Hall - 162 games
                    Jolly - 118 games
                    Davis - 97 games

                    Cheers

I don't think that Shaw's importance to the team in new roles in the latter half of the season is universally appreciated on here. I reckon the coaching staff would have been very pleased with the way he carried out nominated roles. Very important for us again next year.

Thanks - that's what I was suggesting the OP should wait until after the Club Champion dinner. I'd be surprised if Shaw wasn't in the top 10 for the B&F.

I will actually be very surprised if Shaw is in the top 10. He himself admitted he was out of form for much of the season (though he redeemed himself with a decent last month). That doesn't mean I think he should be axed, or that he isn't currently in our best 22. I just don't think he was one of our most consistent 10 players for the season (or that the coaches will consider him to be so).

Agree with that, but most neutral supporters don't watch Sydney and I'm confident TDL will take a few more big steps next season and have people talking about him.

Fwiw I'd love both TDL and Schneider in the side.

                                Remember Peter Faulks?

Faulks is 22 now and regarded as a probable draft pick.He had a really good season playing in defence for Willy as a key position backman.Do you think we would re draft him?????
