It will be interesting to see what Horse Longmire is going to do to try and free up some space for some of our younger players in 2011.

Players like Moore, Mattner, Bevan, White and Richards will need to be playing consistently good football in 2011 to keep players like Rohan, Reid Vez, Johnston, O'Dwyer and Sumner (plus any trades) at bay.

All is looking good for 2011.

Well we don't know yet what his approach will be. Roosey had loyalty to the guys who had done the job in the past and in most cases they repaid this loyalty. Take Richards and Bevan. They did not shine in their first few matches back yet continued to get picked. Eventually they ran into form and really earned their spot. We have no idea what would have happened if Bevan's spot had been given to Rohan, MOD or Vespa but generally the B graders played well when elevated. Our best games of the year were played with 4 or 5 in the team.

I personally think that we will see little change in selection and game day policies as Horse was already having a big say late in the season. Injuries will open the spots in the team and older players tend to get injured more often so a natural changing of the guard will take place. We do not know if Horse has any favourites either but I would venture to guess that White needs to play well after being dropped for the last game.

What do people think. Is Sam Reid going to be a forward or a backman?

He'll revolutionise the way the game is played by becoming the first CHBF - Kicking bags of goals as well as stopping the opposition's gun forwards.

              No pressure Sam.

I think Reid's good enough to do either job. I guess he'll be put where he's needed more. Jesse on the other hand might be more likely to have long term success as a backman. I think the core of our forwards over the next 5+ years will be Johnston, TDL and Rohan. So Reid may go to the backs.

Laughed. Love the way you think. If Horse need an assistant with revolutionary ideas we know where to look.

This mornings Herald Sun review of the Geelong season says Ranga Ediriwickrama has departed but can't find anything official. Anyone know anythin?

I know he had chronic hamstring problems in 2009, does anyone know if he played this year or is still got the injury?

                      Wow that is big news.

Depending on any career ending injury news, odds on he ends up on our list (senior or rookie) next year.

If they can get his body right then he could be a vital missing link as an outsider mid with good skills that potentially could slot in straight away.

Oh good grief Bas, and you are at my table. ..... Sri Lankan background, and we (my mate and me after watching him play in another comp) hoped that he would get a gig in Sydney; was quick and light on his feet; couldn't see him fit in at Geelong though.....was disappointed he went there. You never know.....

                                Re Peter Faulks: NO.

Re Dill - his motor wound down a bit by the end of the season, not quite as effective as he was in the first 3/4, he may have been carrying, and he needs a whole lot more conditioning, but I think he is a probable keeper. but he is a small one. My estimation only he would get another year on rookie list.
