Put that proposition to neutral supporters and Schneider would be taken every time. Plus it disregards the fact that TDL only started performing late this season so we've been without a small forward for 2.75 seasons

(edit) TDL isn't a crumbing forward like Schneider anyway he's a medium lead up player like Le Cras

TDL does his share of crumbing in tandem with Jesse.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

At the end of last year that statement may have been true but he had a pretty poor season and being dropped for the last game, notwithstanding Bradshaw's return, shows where the coaches think he is at.

I would be shocked if we traded him but I don't think White will develop into anything other than a useful player for us. Reid (if he plays forward) and Johnston are far better prospects long term.

I reluctantly agree. The White experiment could easily become just a stop gap measure till Johnston and Reid fill his spot. I think the selector's patience is wearing thin and he will be given more opportunities next season if we keep him but not too many more! He can't complain about not being given enough chances to impress. Why was Reid's debut more exciting than any game White played this year?I think Johnston's debut will be amazing and have supporters excited too. They can't all fit into the team and hopefully selection will be performance based.White still has chances but not for too much longer and realistically ,it is only the weakness of some of his efforst, given his size and speed that has us even talking about trading him. I liken him a bit to Hawkins for Geelong. Supporters are still not 100% sure of him either. Built like that he should do more too.

In the WAFL Grand Final today he had 43 disposals, 11 marks and 4 goals including the match winner with about 30 seconds to go to put his side 1 point up.

This year he has won the Sandover medal (WAFL MVP) and the Simpson medal for BOG in the GF. He will probably go to the weagles though.
This would be an absolute coup if we got Andrew Krakouer. Very much the Didak/Milne hard nut mould that can win you close games.I don't think sydney would be on his list however but if he goes to the Suns as well as Ablett and all the other good players they have,,,they are beginning to have an awesome look about them!!!

Not the grammar, the description. Didak and Milne are a lot of things, but they certainly aren't hard!

I dont thinbk Krakourer will go as high as they think unless the depth really isn't there this year.
There was talk he may go to west coast via trade week with GC..SO it must be GC can grab him before trade week and trade him to the weagles...
I thnk Krakouer prob needs to stay in WA around his support base of family etc..none the less he maybe of value for sure if he ios happy to be away from family.By all accounts he had a wicked GF on the weekend.

You wonder if we will go for more mature WAFl, SANFL, VFL players this year as the yngsters in the draft as mentioned not all that deep in talent.
Given that year by year the talent seems to be minimal you wonder if the time is right for a ressies comp or at least an under 20's comp to get these players playing against the best of crop week in and week out.

Has there ever been a more unexceptional player to play in 4 grand finals? Brad Johnson plays over 364 games for none. Extraordinary.

In 2010 we had Mumford, Hannes, Kennedy and McGlynn become certain top 22 players many years ahead...........Grundy and Nick Smith took another step up as Key Players for the Swans. Kennelly and Malceski came back in fine form and Braddy, Bolton, Bird, Seaby and LRT were was out most of the year...........Then we had Rohan, Jetta and TDL that they could be top 22 players if they keep focused and improving....

I am so optimistic for 2011 and I cant wait to see the big guns return and the young guns keep firing !

is Shaw a possible trade back to a Melb team?

any thoughts..........given Smithys amazing development as a tagger and given that we have a lot of midfielders playing upfront and on the bench and reserves .........

I'd wait to see the count at the Club Champion event before thinking Shaw might be up for trading.
