    As for Smooch. Honestly???
I agree on Everitt, if he wants to stay , I'd like to see him stick around.

As for Smith, I definitely DON'T want to see him go....

But if he has indicated he wants to go back to Melbourne, at the end of his contract next year, then we should try and get something meaningful for him this year.

I really don't like the Smith rumours. Usually I would ignore such unsubstantiated stories but I don't think these AFL.com reporters would publish them without some substance

Would not do it for Varcoe though

I agree, Varcoe is ok, but he's not in the Smith class.

Surely it would have to be more than just Varcoe to trade Smith.....Deal with the Demons I say.

          Dyson Heppell

Was sitting opposite me on the bus this morning. On a meeting to see a potiencial new coach? GWS OR Swans?
This much I know, he looked very relaxed in an enviroment where no one hassles you.....
He will be in Sydney in 2015 no doubt.

I am prepared to be counter culture a bit here. For me everything depends on the price.

I'd be disappointed to see smith go but wouldn't be devastated. He is a very very good shut down defender, but he has not played with as much ambition going forward. If anything I think he is TOO responsible. small players need to be able to go both ways - mattner, shaw, kennelly, malceski all could but the loss of three of them exposed smith's limitations as a running defender - which he is not. He is a very good accurate kick but I would not be averse to having a bit more run from a player like him.

Interesting a Melbourne boy would use bus's to get around Sydney..?

                Where was the bus going?

He must have family and friends in Sydney! (well Tippett and Buddy supposedly do, so why not)

I honestly don't understand the reasons thrown up for some of these players to move home. 'Family roots'. So everyone just stays in the town they're born in? Why the @@@@ would you want to play for the Demons, Saints, Dogs, Roos or many other teams when you play for the Swans, with elite facilities in the best city in the country, great weather, in which you have heaps of friends anyway and travel to Melbourne countless times a yea anyway? Why this sheer inability to wait until they retire in their late 20s or early 30s to move back? Can't handle a few young years away from stuff you have your whole life to obsess over?

I get p'd off when I hear this all the time. I'd say if the Swans are not good enough for you, go back to the bleak grey grid and play with some team that doesn't even deserve to play at AFL level in 2014 and get nowhere your whole career.

I'd be more upset to lose Smith. He will be hard to replace.

I won't lose any sleep over Everitt or White going.
Whilst both have shown improvement this year, they both have too many deficiencies for my liking.

He's going to be very hard to replace. If you look at the Carlton PF where we had to mark the "Three Amigos" Betts, Yarran and Garlett, it was Everitt and Biggs who ended up partnering with Smith to mark that trio. Everitt looks to be heading out the door and Biggs has only played 3 games. Sure he's not a running defender in the mould of a Shaw or Mattner but this problem can be fixed by recruiting someone who can play this role rather than by trading out Smith.

                            Very simplistic outlook that.

Well I just can't understand it. People would rather go backwards than spend a few young years in the best possible football environment.

Agree with Bloodthirsty. If there's a family illness or something similar then fair enough, but if it's going home just to go home they need to grow up imo.
