Interesting
Andrew said we wanted very much two of the available players to us
Langdon and Vandenberg
So that alludes to a reasonable amount of cap space still available ....... $1mill total you would guess ?
550? and 450k ?
Either to use this year or pre pay contracts and have a reasonable war chest next year

Super young team
Beat every team in the top 8 ?

....and to all the Harley doubters, have a listen to Andrew talking about why they got him to the club in the first place......in the extended feed at the bottom.

So if that's one fifth of the whole cap (38 plus rookies), what percentage of the wage bill would BF represent during any given game (22 players)?
Given its a back ended contract 20%, 25%?
Just a thought: if he gets injured during a game, the Swans only lose 1 guy, but from another point of view they lose a huge chunk of the $$$ value of that weeks team.
I'm getting a head spin, I keep hearing my grandfather muttering about eggs and baskets.Comment

Salary Cap is $13.5mill or thereabouts, don't think Buddy gets more than $1.3mill in any season, which is what a number of other clubs players are on. Buddy's last year is just $500k.
Good to hear Andrew Ireland say we're building a War Chest, means we are now well under the cap.Comment

I feel its unlikely the next tv deal will have many more total $$$ in it compared to the current one. I feel like a natural ceiling may not be far off unless there is a substantial change in the broadcasting approach. What i mean by that is some form of far more complex deal aka the english premier league where games are split into multiple packages based on their overall desirability. I think we sort of do that now to some degree but not nearly as sophisticated as the approach there, which could eek out some more dollars at the margin."You get the feeling that like Monty Python's Black Knight, the Swans would regard amputation as merely a flesh wound."Comment

No rumour about it, the exact terms of each year over 9 years were made public at the time. As a DFA we cannot vary those terms, they must stay exactly as lodged back in 2013.
There is no $1.8mill in any of the 9 years, maybe someone can dregde up the exact figures.Comment
