It is bizarre that we have salary cap issues looking at our current list, the best explanation is that Buddys contract is significantly more backloaded that we originally thought, which would make sense when you consider who else was eating up our salary cap in the previous years.
However if it is not Buddy induced, then it is a real worry and makes me wonder how we will keep a lot of our young players in our squad as they age and improve.Comment

That should put pressure on Hickey to agree to our terms[FONT="]

Aliir is gone
If we were getting this year's second round pick I'd be more understanding as we would need it for the bids for Campbell/Gulden.

So does that effectively mean about pick 36-40 next year? Terrible move if true.
The whole salary cap issue is a joke...... Collingwood must be way over, St.Kilda seem to be able to trade for whoever is available. Isn't Martin at Carlton on about $1M? But they still can't get Saad.
Time for player salaries to be disclosed - too much rorting going on.Comment

I have often said that the only loyalty in footy is the supporters and that is getting stretched to the limit.
Players leave when ever they want and the clubs get rid of players when ever they want.
Are we as a club just going through the motions until Buddy leaves, if this is the case when that happens our talented young players won't be there cause they will be wanting to play for a club that has a chance of competing in the finals.Comment

Aliir was contracted for another year and we still only get a crappy pick - puzzles me what the plan is.Comment

What a terrible trade. Regardless of what we use it for, losing Aliir for a pick in the late second round does not feel like market rate.Comment

Agreed. Unless some sort of rabbit is pulled out of a hat this trade period, we look to have made some terrible moves. Yet another fan favourite moved on for not much in return.
If this keeps up I'll seriously consider what level of membership I take out next year.Comment
