So who do we think will either stay or shift back to the rookie list for 2024?

    Reid?
    Magor?
    McAndrew?
    Edwards?
    Mitchell?
    Wicks?

    Cleary maybe?

    Other new players?

There is no risk of Reid being taken by another club. I don't see him wanting to leave Sydney (family considerations alone). He doesn't have to take a physical at another club, which would all but rule him out from selection anyway.

I think we should delist him with the promise to add him as a supplemental selection if he's physically up to it. We just have to keep at least 1 spot open for him, which I think we will do whether we intend to keep Reid or not.

Obviously highly regarded character wise at the club or he would have been delisted long ago. Reckon his chances of being retained are 50/50.

          Iu,
According to my calculation’s if we take 3 pick’s in the national draft we still have room to retain Sam Reid.
The following players have departed, Stephens, Clarke, Gould, Franklin, Hicky, Sheather, P McCartin, Owen, Rankin and Hall khan, a total of 10 players.
We have added Grundy, Jordan, Himilman, Adams, plus Arnold and Buller via the mid season draft Allowing for 3 picks in the national draft that is a total of 9, so there is even room for an additional rookie.

I don’t think there is any need to delist anyone. Including the 9 delistings and retirements we have also traded out Stephens to North which means we have 10 spots available when you add in Buller and Arnold, and Grundy, Adams, Himilman and Jordan from the trade period there is room for 3 national draft picks and one rookie addition if we choose to go in that direction

                      Means Hamling, pretty sure.

To be honest I don’t know, however my understanding is Buller and Arnold were added to the rookie list in the mid season draft, not the primary list.

                          My apologies, I meant Hamling.

Yes it was Hamling, ( too many glasses of red) ).
Further to that it would make sense because Hamling has a 2 year contract and could be placed on the rookie list in place of Paddy McCartin.
Not sure how the rookie list works anymore, my understanding was it was for 2 years, but Fox appears to have been on for about 5 years, and has only just now been upgraded.
In any case it appears to me that we have ample room on the list to accommodate 3 ND picks and a rookie

Has Reid been undertaking a rigorous training schedule so he proves he deserves to stay on list?

If we delist Reid, there is a danger GWS could pick him up. He'd be an upgrade for Lachie Keefe as second ruck/forward.
I wouldn't put it past them.
