His Brownlow medal and two AA while playing for St. Kilda might suggest you are right.

I suppose it depends on why you were flogging it in the first place.

Thanks everyone for bothering to read my posts. I suppose what I meant by, "they played below their best", was that they were immature, suspensions, lacking concentration, off field mis-demeanours etc. Lockett and Davis both grew up and Barry was as good as an altar boy until his last couple of years. Did i clarify that ok?

Could always put it on hold 'til the lead up to the PSD when the speculation will start again as to whether we go for Tippett or whether every other team asks players to take a pay cut to make room for Tippett's pay demands ...

If Adelaide really wanted to be spiteful they could make it known that they will draft Tippett again in the PSD (they probably won't have any picks in the ND) if he was still available (wouldn't that go down well).

If the recruiters wanted to recruit an arthritic poodle with attitude issues I'd be inclined to give them the benefit of the doubt such is the faith I have in these guys.

Thanks for the feedback, but I was just stating my opinion and how it has swayed through this whole drama. Unbelievable to you maybe and I'm sure you're right but a lot of us fans have had a lot of conflicting views on this whole saga. Apologies to anyone else who is offended that I have not been 100% behind this even though AFC and this guy's people thought he was good enough to sign him to some (allegedly) very creative contracts that may or may not be on the nose.....

Can't see that happening. Why draft a player who will nominate for a fortune, into a team whose team mates no longer like or respect him, with a supporter base who are renowned for eating their own young when they are upset by them? They'd eventually have to play him in the two's to placate anyone who has anything to do with the club ... & that's and expensive ressies player to have on your list

An interesting point, Jono2707. What were AFC thinking to make the pledge they did? They must have known he was likely to want out and so to get him to stay offered a deal outside the rules hoping beyond hope that the side would be so close to a GF that he will not want to go and the details of their agreement would never be known. Also, his brothers relocation Gold Coast to Adelaide was funded by the Crows.
