All the talk is that Leuenberger will either be playing for Sydney or Essendon next season...surely we would have to be the more attractive proposition.

I wasn't overly keen on him but I watched some highlights from this year and he did have some pretty decent games, particularly against Freo/Sandi where he collected 50 hit-outs, 9 tackles and 2 goals as well.

Going hard for a ready-made ruckman probably indicates that Pyke's knees are about shot, and that we want Tip playing 60-70% of the game as a stay at home forward. As the rotations come down it should give big hulking forwards like Tip, Hawkins, Cloke etc. more one on one opportunities because in theory players will be too tired to push back as hard as they currently do.

If we do land Leuenberger it will be interesting to see if Nank retains his place on the list. 4 back-up ruckman (Nankervis, Naismith, TomD, Mike) seems excessive, and big Toby is the only one not contracted as far as I know?

Leuenberger has always been able to play the game to a high standard - but as it is with many ruckmen, its about keeping him on the park for extended periods. When he is playing well, he is very, very decent ruckman. But that isn't much help if he only can play half the games in a season, which is not far off his average whilst at Brisbane.

You'd have to be confident that we've done our due dilligence on the medical front and have decided that it's worth the risk.

It was posted on RWO somewhere recently that it was a super moon on 29/9 an the great Nostradamus and Pastor Begley had predicted the world to end yesterday. Pastor Begley was wrong again. Can't wait for his next instalment.

Leuenberger seems to be a lock now... Remember Mark Seaby? This seems to be going down a similar path

We need to keep Nankervis. All the others are likely to be on the injury list.

I believe his latest prediction is, if Hawthorn wins a four-peat then the world will - if not end, then be a totally unbearable place to live! I think he's definitely getting closer to the ballpark!

I also remember Paul "the doughnut king" Chambers.

I know he's contracted for next year, but surely we'd be better off paying out TomD and giving him away.

The chances of him getting another run in the seniors are about as remote as me supporting Hawthorn this weekend....No chance.

Who here hopes that the Hawks suffer a 100 point defeat?

Would help push our miserable effort last year into a back corner...

It's certainly hard to find a neutral that wants the Hawks to win....

... but for that to happen, the Wet Coke Budgies have to win.

Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

It's as bad as the @@@@ingwood / 'aints final a few years ago.

End of the day the hawks supporters would be insufferable after a 'threepete'
