It's the old "but they're brothers, surely they come as a package?" syndrome.
I can think of Beams to Brisbane, Selwood to Geelong and Hill to Freo as the only examples of players asking to be traded to play with their brother, and in two of those cases I think it was mainly about the "go home" factor. Still doesn't stop fans being adamant that some player's star brother will definitely end up at their club.Comment

Some fans like to think of AFL players as 10 year old kids.
They all want to play for the clubs they barrack for, live within 5km radius of their mummy and play in the backyard with their brothers.
It really is all a childish romantic fallacy.
My brother is a knob. If i was at the same club as him or even in the same city I would be seeking a move to Perth. As far away as possible.Last edited by Muttley; 11 October 2018, 08:47 PM.Comment

FYI: yesterday afternoon on 5AA (Always Alarmist). A talk back caller, who spoke with clarity and conviction, spoke of the quality player that John Blakey's son will become and how the Swans would prosper significantly from his services. Right at the end of his comment he said the Swans would also land May from the GC Suns. Obviously seems unlikely to all on here, but I just wanted to place it in this thread in case it comes true. When wil Ludwig & Ugh be elevated to match committee?

It's funny this sudden love for Langdon. I watch a lot of the Pies and his last dozen games were very good indeed. However...before then, he was one of the most spudtacular turnover merchants in the AFL. I don't often bag opposition players, but he was a constant Spangheresque misfit. That he is now being fawned over is a testimony to the value of playing your best footy when everyone is watching...Comment

Ryan Burton from the Hawks, if you can believe AFL.com.au, is on the table for the Port for Wingard.
If we want backmen, he is 21, 191 cm, and can play.
But i remember in 2015, he had a broken leg that year and got pick at 19, when most though he would be far early.
Let get on this deal, as good as Langdon if not better!doof-doofComment

Yeah I suggest someone like dan Howe for us to look at as flexible player that can play in defence and obviously now as a bit of a run with player on big opposition mids and I get told impossible
Port suggests their young defensive gun burton to the hawks for Wingard ......wow !!!
I love all the possibilities
Every year I am absolutely amazed by some of the trade and selections etc
No player or player movement is off limits
Jaw dropping
Ps yes burton more upside"be tough, only when it gets tough"

I suppose your experience shapes somewhat ur perception of future possibilities"be tough, only when it gets tough"

This is an extraordinary story about the Beams to Collingwood rumour
Category: | Herald Sun
The Lions today laughed at the suggestion Beams, 28, was on the way out.
The Herald Sun understands Beams has not asked for a trade and that his manager Paul Connors will not be asking for a trade on his client’s behalf.”Last edited by 707; 11 October 2018, 09:55 PM.Comment

Swans want to make sure they’ve got what they need to trade for Langdon and cover Blakey and their other draft needs using this year’s picks.
This is because I reckon Saints are mostly offering future picks.
Secretly hoping they’ll swap their future first for our future second or something similar.

Yes. He’s been either been duped or is a willing participant. Neither looks good.Comment
